Remember The Time

Fri Jun 26, 2009, 5:52 AM
  • Mood: Sadness
  • Listening to: Michael Jackson's Greatest Hits
  • Watching: Michael Jackson music videos
  • Drinking: water
Today, I want all of you to remember the good things Michael Jackson has done throughout his life. I want everyone to remember his time with the Jackson Five, his first break-away performance, "Thriller," and the charities he participated in. Remember how he tried to "Heal The World" through his music. He was a "Smooth Criminal" of many people's hearts.

Even those who did not particularly care for him, I ask that you remember that he was a completely bad guy. There were many good things that he did. Here is a list of the charity work he was a part of:

AIDS Project L.A.
American Cancer Society
Angel Food
Big Brothers of Greater Los Angeles
BMI Foundation, Inc.
Brotherhood Crusade
Brothman Burn Center
Camp Ronald McDonald
Childhelp U.S.A.
Children's Institute International
Cities and Schools Scholarship Fund
Community Youth Sports & Arts Foundation
Congressional Black Caucus (CBC)
Dakar Foundation
Dreamstreet Kids
Dreams Come True Charity
Elizabeth Taylor Aids Foundation
Juvenile Diabetes Foundation
Love Match
Make-A-Wish Foundation
Minority Aids Project
Motown Museum
NAACP
National Rainbow Coalition
Rotary Club of Australia
Society of Singers
Starlight Foundation
The Carter Center's Atlanta Project
The Sickle Cell Research Foundation
Transafrica
United Negro College Fund (UNCF)
United Negro College Fund Ladder's of Hope
Volunteers of America
Watts Summer Festival
Wish Granting
YMCA - 28th Street/Crenshaw

He also wrote and sang songs asking others to find it in their hearts to help the world. Songs like "Heal the World," "Man in the Mirror," and "Gone Too Soon." Many of his songs spoke of helping mankind and being there for your fellow neighbour. Songs like "Black or White" and "They Don't Care About Us" inspired acceptance.

This is a very sad time for the entertainment industry. He will always be remembered as a great entertainer with a caring heart.

To me, he will always be remembered as one of the men I grew up listening to. I cannot begin to describe the countless times I have listened and fell in love with his many songs. Nevermind the man himself. It saddens me deeply that I will never get the chance to meet him. But it saddens me more that this historical figure has "Gone Too Soon."

Please, take this time to remember Mr. Jackson. Not for his bizarre behaviour the past few years, but for the good man he was.

He will be greatly missed.

Going good. Lots of unusual funness. (sarcasm.) But, nonetheless, still good. I'll be back online soon, I hope. When I do get back, I'll have AIM as well as MSN. Just to let you know.

You know Yahoo does that shit to. Sort of. They'll take you off the email if you don't at least check your email once every few months or so. Kinda sucks.
